Egypt enjoys a semi-desertic climate and can be describe in 2 words : hot and dry. January, February and March can be chilly in the North part of Egypt. But beside this period, the average temperature is 20C on the mediteranean sea (maximum of 31 C) and 28 near the city of Aswan in the south of Egypt (maximum of 50 C) In the desert of Egypt, the difference of temperature between days et night can be huge. In March and April, a wind called Khamsin (a dry and hot wind) blows from the Libyan desert and speed can reach 150km/hour. During these desert storm the sky turns red and being outside can be very difficult and potentially deadly. The hottest period of the year to come in Egypt is surely the month of June, July and August. Temperature at this moment of the year can reaches 40 C in the south of Egypt. The interesting sites can be visited early in the morning or when the sunset. These period of day make the light gorgeous and perfect to make good picture of Egypt. Winter is surely the best period to discover Egypt for many reasons : in some other reason the heat and fog and dust of the Egyptian capital makes traveling in Egypt uncomfortable. For those of you traveling in Egypt in winter, night can be chilly so be ready.

Concerning the precipitation, Alexandria is the wettest place of Egypt with an average 19cm per year of rain. At the opposite Aswan receive about 15mm per 5 years which make of it the driest city of Egypt. The best moment to travel in all part of Egypt are May, October and November. March and April can be great also but the incredible Khamsin (wind from the Libyan desert) make it difficult to reach all part of Egypt.
Best period to travel in Egypt
The best seasons to travel in Egypt are both winter and spring. The temperature at this moment on the Egyptian territory is perfect for all kinds of adventures: travel in the desert, living in the sea or cruise on the Nile. Be advise to avoid the period running from June to end August. At this time of year, temperatures can easily reach 45 C and the humidity is about 70 to 80% in Egypt. Although the temperatures are much more pleasant in winter and spring, the cons-parties is sometimes the number of tourists who snapped one night at the hotel. There is also a major vacation time in Europe, mainly Spain. If however you want to come in summer, be sure to properly take along a good sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water. From March to end of April in Egypt From March to late April, there is usually little sand blown by strong winds in Egypt. However, on some days - perhaps two or three during this period of two months, weather can be so dusty that you may not be able to go outside. But most days it is just a small amount of dust in the air due to wind blowing across the desert to the west. From mid-March to late April is the season of Easter Orthodox and Catholic Easter celebrations - the weather is so nice, but the rate increase as it is a period of high demand.
